Castles with character
Grand terraces, forest ruins, cliff edges and stories that stay with you. The first ten ideas for your shortlist:

Architecture you would never guess was here
Świdnica’s UNESCO-listed Church of Peace hides an astonishing interior inside a timber-framed building: a story of faith surviving severe building restrictions. Farther west, Siedlęcin’s ducal tower preserves medieval wall paintings of Sir Lancelot. Each deserves time of its own.
Sandstone worlds on the border
Adršpach’s famous towers are only the beginning. Teplické skály has its own deep passages and immense rock walls. Quieter walks in the wider Broumovsko landscape include beautiful sandstone trails without an entrance ticket. We can choose a lesser-known corner for your day; a full rock-city walk needs more time than a quick transfer stop.
The many faces of the Sudetes
Old mountains with wonderfully varied scenery: wooded ridges, open valleys, rocky slopes and roads that keep revealing another view. Even the Express journey leaves the main road in a few carefully chosen places to enjoy them.
A quieter Czech side
Across the border, northern Bohemia brings small villages, traditional houses and a different rhythm. On the longer route we can stop for Czech cooking in a restaurant favoured by locals — the kind of lunch you might never find on a city break.

The same two optionsStart in Prague instead? The base transfer rate is still 800 PLN. Express is 700 PLN with the same 100 PLN discount and 6-hour limit. An approximately 8-hour exploration costs 800 PLN. We agree a suitable route and lunch stop for your direction of travel.

Prices are guide fees for the outing, rather than per person. The base rate for travel between Wrocław and Prague is 800 PLN in either direction. Any extra time and additional fee are agreed before booking.

About the Guy Driving You
"Full transparency: I'm not a certified historian, a licensed tour guide, or a professional anything. I was born in the Soviet Union, grew up in Transnistria — a place that technically doesn't exist on most maps, which probably explains why I've never felt entirely at home in any one country. I've always been the foreigner. I moved to Lower Silesia and fell embarrassingly in love with its castles, and bought a Toyota to do something about it.
I drive a spacious Toyota Avensis. The puns I make along the way are genuinely terrible — I've been warned about this. The castle stories, however, are real, personal, and occasionally include me getting lost on a forest trail at dusk. I'll tell you those ones too.
What I actually am: someone who has spent seven years exploring this region, learned Polish, learned the laws (important when you're driving across borders), and still gets genuinely giddy when I see Książ rising above the Pełcznica valley.
